Prayer

Some staff members are reluctant to attend the staff Bible study or to come for counseling. Some do attend. Many are happy to have the chaplain or one of the volunteers pray for or with them. The chaplains try to stay informed about those staff members who have suffered deaths in their families, are dealing with a serious illness in the family, or are experiencing some other crisis. Someone from the chaplain’s office tries to find a good time to sit down with such staff members to encourage them and to pray with them. Those in the jail management are under much strain. They appreciate the chaplain or a volunteer coming by to pray with them and show that they care.
