Worship Services

Currently, Chaplains for Christ International conducts 19 services per week. These services are conducted by teams of volunteers from various local churches aided by groups such as the Gideons. The volunteers provide music, teaching, and preaching for all who will voluntarily come. Except for the most extreme security risks, any inmate is free to attend (or not attend). The emphasis of these services is usually evangelism. Attendance at a service is often the first step taken by an inmate before he becomes involved in any of the other programs such as Bible Studies. Volunteers encourage those who make decisions for Christ or who show a desire to learn more about God’s Word to complete decision cards for follow-up purposes.
