Christmas Outreach

A yearly program of the jail ministry is to help the children of inmates to have a merrier Christmas than they might otherwise have. This program is coordinated by Prison Fellowship and is called Operation Angel Tree. Local churches are asked to sponsor one or more inmate families. The chaplaincy provides the churches with information about the inmates’ children so that they may shop for presents for the children. Each church then sends a ministry team to deliver the gifts to the homes they have sponsored. This outreach also leads to follow-up ministry to the families by the sponsoring churches.
